Inspiration for this piece was borrowed from The Opera House in Vienna, Austria, where medallions very similar to the central part of this design appear between the tops of tall, double arched windows. We don't know much about the origin of the design concepts for the exterior of the structure, but over the centuries, many love stories have been sung on the inside. My feelings are that this design was intentional, with hearts and flourishes all encased inside a strong outer circle, which represents eternity.
