Bird of Paradise was one of my Grandmother's favorite flowers. She was raised in Michigan and wintered in Florida after she and my Grandfather sold the farm. She loved the colorful season that now replaced the basic white she was used to. Florida was a little bit of heaven to Granny and in many ways, she became like a bird of paradise in her later years. During a dark period of my life, she wrote letters of encouragement to me that meant more than words can say.
